Exploring the massive castle in Hogwarts Legacy reveals a wealth of hidden secrets, including the intriguing side quest involving enchanted flying keys. Players looking to collect every house token must locate sixteen distinct Daedalian keys scattered across the school's corridors, towers, and dungeons. Finding all of these keys allows students to unlock their specific common room chest for a unique visual reward.
Starting The Daedalian Keys Quest
To begin tracking down these enchanted objects, players need to speak with Nellie Oggspire in the Transfiguration Courtyard. She introduces the concept of the flying keys and directs you toward your very first target located in the Astronomy Tower. Following this initial key teaches you how to locate the matching house cabinet and complete the quick alignment minigame.
Where To Find Keys In The Astronomy Wing And Library Annex
Several keys are hidden within key academic areas, such as the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom near the rhinoceros skeleton. Another key flutters near the Potions Classroom, leading players down a nearby stairwell to its corresponding cabinet. Additional keys can be discovered around the Central Hall fountain, near the entrance to the Greenhouses, and within the main Library itself.
Exploring The Great Hall, Dungeons, And South Wing
Venturing into the Great Hall reveals a key hovering near the fireplace, while another key can be found in the adjacent Quad Courtyard area. Exploring the castle depths leads to keys located near the sleeping dragon statue and inside the dungeon corridors. Accessing the keys within the Faculty Tower requires players to unlock level-one doors using the Alohomora spell after progressing the main story.
Solving The Minigame And Unlocking House Rewards
When you track a key back to its house cabinet, you must interact with it to begin a timing-based minigame. Successful timing lets you slap the key into place, opening the lock and granting one house token. Once you deposit all sixteen tokens into your common room chest, you unlock the exclusive Relic House Uniform cloak customized for your chosen Hogwarts house.
